How to achieve acne-free, summer-ready skin

For many people, getting into a regular, healthy and sustainable skincare routine can be a bit challenging. Maybe you’re left wondering if the products you’re using are right for you? Are there more advances in the skincare industry you should know about? Should you really be using a topical cream? Or what if your skincare type has changed and you might need to give everything a bit overhaul? Any of these sound familiar? 

Well, here at Works With Water we want your skin, your confidence and your life to be the best it can possibly be. So as we move into spring and soon (fingers crossed) a bright and warm summer, we wanted to share some of our top tips with you for transitioning into new seasons armed with knowledge, options and a bright acne-free face.

Get to know your skin and be more mindful

It sounds like an easy suggestion, right? But the truth is many of us are so caught up in our busy lives that we don’t pay enough attention to what our skin and our bodies are trying to tell us about our lifestyles, our habits and our skincare routine. In fact, how many times have you looked into the mirror and been shocked at how much dry skin or acne you have? Well, it didn’t just happen over the last few minutes! As we move into spring, we urge you to be a bit more mindful when it comes to your skin. So this means keeping a close eye on what’s going on. Notice some redness? Maybe it’s the skincare you’re using. Notice some extra oily patches? Maybe it’s the takeaway you had a few nights ago. Makeup sweating away within minutes? Maybe you need to make a big change because it’s warmer during the day now.

It’s not always easy to make bold links about what does and doesn’t affect your skin, because it’s not instantaneous. But moving into warmer weather with a more mindful approach will help you to make more informed choices about the products you’re using and how your habits may or may not improve your appearance.

Many people swear by journalling to stay more mindful, others find exercise helps and we’re big fans of mindfulness meditation because it doesn’t just keep you focused for a few minutes, it really can change your whole outlook for the day.

Try a new method of skincare
