Clean make-up brushes…
…and clean them often! Simply soak them in a bowl of soapy hot water and then allow them to dry completely before storing them. If you do this every night before bed you will be certain that you won’t spread bacteria on your face every morning. Remember acne contains bacteria!
Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. Manage your stress by setting yourself achieveable limits, scale back your ‘to do list’ and make time to do the things you enjoy. Then see the difference!
Protect from the sun
It may seem like a tan masks acne, but it’s only temporary. A tan may worsen your acne, not improve it. Tanning also causes damage to skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles and increase your risk of skin cancer. Use a protective sunscreen & try not to expose your skin for more than 15 mins.
Don’t pop pimples
Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin. It leads to swelling and redness and can result in acne scarring. In order to keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands before applying anything to your face, such as treatment creams and make-up.
Ensuring sufficient fluid intake is important for the skin to remain hydrated. Try to consume approximately two litres of fluid a day from food, beverages or water (equivalent to between eight and ten glasses of water) to keep skin moist, refreshed and supple. Plus it’s the perfect beverage partner for help: clear skin!
A chronic lack of sleep might have some negative effects on your appearance, causing anxiety, irritation and depression. This can cause more sleeplessness and the cycle continues. Make it a habit to leave your worries behind and get a good night’s sleep. Get some exercise in the evening. It helps!
Taking regular exercise such as walking, running, cycling should have a great impact on your skin. Increased blood flow due to aerobic exercise will positively impact on your complexion with a glowing look to replace dull skin. It will also make you feel more energized and great about yourself.
