For many people, getting into a regular, healthy and sustainable skincare routine can be a bit challenging. Maybe you’re left wondering if the products you’re using are right for you? Are there more advances in the skincare industry you should know about? Should you really be using a topical cream? Or what if your skincare type has changed and you might need to give everything a bit overhaul? Any of these sound familiar?
Well, here at Works With Water we want your skin, your confidence and your life to be the best it can possibly be. So as we move into spring and soon (fingers crossed) a bright and warm summer, we wanted to share some of our top tips with you for transitioning into new seasons armed with knowledge, options and a bright acne-free face.
Get to know your skin and be more mindful
It sounds like an easy suggestion, right? But the truth is many of us are so caught up in our busy lives that we don’t pay enough attention to what our skin and our bodies are trying to tell us about our lifestyles, our habits and our skincare routine. In fact, how many times have you looked into the mirror and been shocked at how much dry skin or acne you have? Well, it didn’t just happen over the last few minutes! As we move into spring, we urge you to be a bit more mindful when it comes to your skin. So this means keeping a close eye on what’s going on. Notice some redness? Maybe it’s the skincare you’re using. Notice some extra oily patches? Maybe it’s the takeaway you had a few nights ago. Makeup sweating away within minutes? Maybe you need to make a big change because it’s warmer during the day now.
It’s not always easy to make bold links about what does and doesn’t affect your skin, because it’s not instantaneous. But moving into warmer weather with a more mindful approach will help you to make more informed choices about the products you’re using and how your habits may or may not improve your appearance.
Many people swear by journalling to stay more mindful, others find exercise helps and we’re big fans of mindfulness meditation because it doesn’t just keep you focused for a few minutes, it really can change your whole outlook for the day.
Try a new method of skincare
Here at Works With Water, we produce a range of products aimed at making your skin healthier, your complexion clearer and pushing your confidence up a few levels! The thing that’s different about our products, like help: clear skin and help: clear skin MEN, is that they’re not topical. So this means you don’t put them onto spots or have to walk around with thick cream on your face all day – anyone who has suffered with acne will know what a pain this can be. Instead our products are supplements. They can be added to drinks, beverages and no one has to know you’re taking them.
This season we urge you to try a new method when it comes to skincare, maybe relying on topical creams and treatments isn’t for you anymore?
Cut back on makeup and unnecessary products
Just like mindfulness in our day-to-day lives can be real eye-opener, stripping back when it comes to makeup and skincare can have a huge difference too. Especially as we move between seasons.
Makeup can be a great way to accentuate our features, hide blemishes and give our confidence a push in the right direction. However, many of us are so used to our makeup routines… Foundation, concealer, powder, blusher, eye makeup… And apply it so robotically that we actually might not be realising that we can take a step back and feel happier with our appearance without the makeup, link redness and irritation to a certain product or just realise we’ve outgrown our old products and routines. The same can be said for skincare products. Do you really need a seven step process? Or is it time to find a skincare routine that’ll leave your skin glowing with just three products and a lot less hassle?
As we move into the warmer months, here at Works With Water we’re keen to find out how you transition between seasons seamlessly, what your favourite products are and what skincare gems you swear by! We’d love to hear from you, so meet us in the comments below.
