5 Things to do right now to turn your day around

March 23, 2015 by Works with Water

We’ve all had “one of those days” when nothing seems to go right. When one thing after another seems to come along and build up until we’re left feeling stressed out and panicked or sad and worthless. Whether it’s a bad case of acne, a late train or a big deadline. Well, we’ve got five tips to turn your day around. Five things you can do RIGHT NOW.

  1. Hydrate your body
We’ve written about the importance of keeping your body hydrated with plenty of water many times before (The benefits of drinking water to help achieve clear skin)but the truth is that keeping your body hydrated means keeping your cells hydrated, which means they’ll work so much better. Want to be able to concentrate more? Drink more water! Keen to improve the health of your skin? Increase your water intake each day!
You don’t have to drink loads of bottled water if you get bored of the taste, you can try herbal teas, infuse water with fruit plus you could add our 100% natural help: clear skin (or help: clear skin MEN) soluble supplements, which will improve the health of your skin, getting rid of blemishes and stopping bacteria from clogging up your pores.
  1. Practice some gratitude
If you’ve been reading any health or wellbeing blog posts or articles recently, you’re likely to have come across people talking about the importance of practicing gratitude. Now this may sound a bit strange, but basically what it means is stopping, taking some time to yourself and thinking about what things or people or… well… anything in your life you’re grateful for. Studies show that taking stock of what we value in our lives can have a huge affect on our happiness, wellbeing and stress levels.
  1. Take a break
A recent study showed that nearly half of the UK workforce don’t take breaks during the day. What a sad statistic! When you’re stressed it can be really tempting to work, work, work in an attempt to get everything done and exert a bit of control over your manic workplace. But the truth is that taking regular regular breaks isn’t just good for your body, allowing your skin and cells to breathe fresh air rather than air con, but it’s also good for your mind, helping you relax, de-stress and gain a bit of perspective.
  1. Nourish your body with food
When we’re having a bad day it can be very easy to think “ahh, I’ll treat myself then” and turn to sugary or greasy food for happiness and a way to relax. But really that’s the last thing our minds, bodies and skin cells need. Instead opt for a veggie juice, grab some carrot sticks or opt for flavoured water until you can get home and cook yourself a meal full of greens, whole foods and good fats instead. If you’re struggling with acne, our product help: clear skin contains an ingredient called  lactoferrin, which is suitable for diabetics, coeliacs and anyone lactose intolerant.  Think of it as food specially for your skin in a single sachet!
  1. Just stop
Yep, it may sound like madness if you’ve been running around like a headless chicken for days and your default is to panic. But sometimes all it takes is to just stop and allow things to be rather than trying to control, freak out or stop them. This is what mindfulness meditation is all about. Stopping and just allowing thoughts, feelings and emotions to come and go instead of reacting to them or trying to block them out. We’re not suggesting you meditate every time you feel a bit burned out (although you can if that works for you!), but just pause, take a deep breath and allow yourself some time.
